Mona is the perfect venue for the launch of the Tasmanian branch of Women in Media.

The museum of old and new art, nestled on the banks of the Derwent, is known for its quirky architecture and provocative installations.

It is also known for great food and innovative
experiences

The Women in Media launch, set in the Eros and Thanos function room, played host to journalist Virginia Trioli, WIM founder Caroline Jones and a room full of media talent, politicians and a handful of men.

Caroline Jones recalled the struggles she faced as a young journalist back in the late 1950s whilst Trioli spoke about the difficulty of predicting where news and journalists were heading in the future.

Seated amongst these inspiring women, one couldn’t help but applaud how much women in media have achieved.
